Drastic measures must be taken to reduce our nation’s debt. Americans must never again be dependent on another nation to keep America from its responsibilities. Our Congress should never have borrowed from another nation without the consent of the people, and America as a unified nation would never have given this consent. When Congress borrows funds to keep pace with its outrageous spending, this shows that they cannot take care of this nation. Liberal views are not working, and the pace that this nation is on is fast exceeding our ability to ever pay back the debt.

Our nation was originally founded as a republic. The very first part of this definition is: “A state in which supreme power is held by the people….” The second part: “…and their elected representatives.” It is the people that elect their representatives, and it will be the people that remove them.

How can the national debt be reduced if a balanced budget is never enacted? How can a nation’s budget be put into place if this nation cannot even move to end the outrageous spending of this present administration?

Why should a billionaire, like Warren Buffett, pay more in taxes if the balanced budget never goes into effect? Congress will only apply this money to other projects. Therefore, the nation’s debt will increase because there is no budget in place. Our national debt as loans from other nations will be far greater than any money given to our government from the added wealth of rich people. What this means is that their tax money to government, our Congress, is but a drop in the bucket, and the debt will continue to go up. No amount of money from rich taxpayers alone coming into our government’s businesses can pay back our nation’s debt.

The debt will never be paid and will only continue to grow faster and faster to the continual crushing of our nation. As long as taxes continue within a confusing progressive tax system, there will never be any improvements to lowering our nation’s debt, let alone its elimination.
