Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863. Within this speech lives one of America’s most profound truths and a key principle embedded within all religions*. It is this key component to man’s right to freedom and is the heart of the American nation.
“Four score and seven years ago** our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”
The Declaration of Independence and President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address represent our nation’s heritage. This is the birthright of the American Republic*** for which this nation stands. This is the foundation that should never have changed. This is mankind’s framework that is directly tied to the primary principles or the living principles within all true religions.
When America was formed, it was the very first nation to understand equality’s need for all nations and religions to live in harmony together. America’s downfall, therefore, in our history was slavery—not giving equality to everyone. However, a “truer” truth was not slavery alone; it was that slavery represented a profitable business. It took time and then a civil war to bring slavery to its end. I mention this only because government still has other liberal issues**** that need to be removed/resolved—issues that could make for a stronger and better nation. Nevertheless, America is still the strongest and greatest nation upon this earth. This needs to be said, for this is America’s common ground, a binding precedent for a world of peace, liberty and equality for all.
America cannot lose its precedence based on the Declaration of Independence and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Once lost, the American people will never again get it back. The Democrats’ liberal agendas are moving this nation well past liberal ideals, past socialistic society and past communistic society, to a government based on totalitarian dictatorships, eventually to a single world order—the few wielding power to the many.
All Americans need to go to the next presidential election to vote for our Founding Fathers’ single all-encompassing principle of a Republic founded on Christian conservative values.
Notes:
* Gettysburg Address: For the complete three paragraphs of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, go to the Wikipedia Encyclopedia on the Web.
** “Four score and seven years ago”—a score is 20 years x 4 + 7 = 87 years. This is the time of our Founding Fathers and their Declaration of Independence of 1776.
*** Republic: The base definition for a Republic is a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives. I would add that the elected representatives must believe in the same core values held by the people. Together, they stand as a unified group for conservative values.
